Melanie Thompson
Performing Arts Industry Lead
We welcome Melanie Thompson, centre-stage, to take Inclu into the world of the performing arts.
And who better qualified? Melanie is classically educated from four years at the prestigious Tring Park School for the Performing Arts followed by three years securing a BA in Acting at the world-renowned Birmingham Conservatoire. And then, honing her craft the best way possible – treading the boards of more than one hundred theatres across Europe and beyond, delivering everything from gritty monologues in London, the provinces and at the Brighton Festival, to theatre-in-education roles in Paris, Rome and Berlin, Jayne Eyre in Monte Carlo and Shakespeare at the Kochi Centre of Fine Arts in India.
Add to this her considerable experience on tv and film sets as diverse as other-worldly, Dr Who, spooky horror movies for night-fright fans, and windswept coves of Cornwall filming Poldark, Melanie understands first-hand about accessibility and inclusivity (or lack thereof) in this important, global industry. So we will now be shining a spotlight on the performing arts, bringing down the curtain on excluding practices and striving to improve the experience for performers, front of house, stage crew and, of course, paying audiences.
Curtain call for Melanie!
